Our Process
Center for Weight Loss Surgery helps patients overcome obesity and take control of their health. We provide care along the entire obesity spectrum, including weight loss surgery, cosmetic surgery and body contouring following weight loss, and non-surgical weight management. When you refer a patient for bariatric surgery, here is what they can expect during our process:
- Consultation and insurance verifications: Once we have the patient’s insurance information, we will verify their benefits with their insurance company and contact them to complete any remaining paperwork and schedule a consultation. Consultations can be in-person or virtual.
- Pre-surgery testing and consultation: Includes endoscopy and a review of test results
- Pre-surgery education class: To prepare patients and their support person(s) for surgery
- Submissions for prior authorization: Insurance company authorization if needed
- Final consultation before surgery: In-person consultation to review the details of surgery
- Surgery: Most patients go home the day of surgery
- Lifelong follow-up care: Comprehensive and compassionate follow-up care and support
- Cosmetic surgery: If interested, the patient may undergo body contouring or cosmetic surgery with our practice post-bariatric surgery
